Lybrook, NM New Community Project Learning Tour Cancelled

The planned PSWD Youth participation in the New Community Project Learning Tour to the Dine (Navaho) Reservation for this June has been cancelled. Here is what David Radcliff (NCP Director) shared:
Regarding our Learning Tour to Lybrook, I’ve been trying to wait and see how things take shape. It seems the virus is having a serious impact on the reservation (I believe just over 1000 infections, with several dozen deaths). I was glad to hear that the tribe has been very proactive in closing down public places and has done more testing per capita than many other places. I noticed that currently they have dusk till dawn curfew in place.
I just today (April 20) received a message from our hosts noting the curfew, and saying they may need to cancel all their plans to host groups this summer. This is tragic on many counts, but their health and that of our group is of utmost importance. We’ll certainly organize a Learning Tour there again as soon as the situation allows.
Please hold the Dine people in your prayers as they too work to be safe during this pandemic.
