  • Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden: Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, established in 1927, is the largest botanic garden dedicated to California native plants.
    • 4.3 miles from Hillcrest (map link) A short drive. Entrance Fee.
  • Kuns Park: Located at 1600 Bonita Avenue (between Bonita Ave. and Magnolia St.) in the original Lordburg Tract, Kuns Park is the oldest park in the City. This 2.5-acre neighborhood park contains amenities for passive recreation: six sheltered picnic tables, seven open-air picnic tables, five barbecues, an ADA accessible restroom facility, and an ADA accessible tot lot.

  • Bonelli Park (regional county): The 1,975 acres of park facilities surrounding the lake offer a variety of recreational  activities: family and group  picnicking, sight seeing, hiking, horseback riding, jogging, nature walks, recreational vehicle (RV) and group camping, a water-theme park,  calf-roping, bird watching, spa facilities, golfing and bicycling.
