Russ has served since 2015 as the District Executive Minister and logs about 35,000 miles traveling for the district each year. He enjoys being with a different congregation for worship each Sunday, and appreciates the fullness of the church that he gets to experience. Russ makes his home in Modesto, with his wife Erin, and they are avid Chicago Cubs baseball fans. Russ enjoys travel (work or non-work related), reading and cooking. Prior to becoming the DEM he served two team pastorates with Erin in California, and worked in marketing for Brethren Press.
In September 2017 Gilbert Romero began work as the PSWD Ministry Training Coordinator. Gilbert brings a breadth of experience in the Church of the Brethren and a commitment to working at growing our capacity for ministry growth with Hispanic sisters and brothers. Gilbert will be focusing on supporting and motivating our licensed ministers who are participating in SeBAH and EFSM-español. This will include checking in with them regularly to see how they are doing in ministry, studies, and life.
