Sessions:

Cross Cultural Sensitivity for Kingdom Seekers & Dwellers"The local church must choose acceptance of, and having cultural sensitivity to, those of different ethnic backgrounds, to be considered a true church of the kingdom of God." – With this in mind, the intent of the workshop is to help encourage openness and oneness within our district for creating cross-cultural ministry relationships. We will touch on the following topics: Understanding Culture, Appreciating Diversity, Looking at barriers, and how the church can help.
Visions of Hope – We will explore ways in which congregations can better understand and connect with their neighbors and communities in which they worship. Many churches find themselves located in areas that have rich ethnic and cultural diversity and there is much to be gained by building relationships with these neighbors. Ephesians 2: 17-22 provides a biblical model for building these bridges of understanding.
Church Leaders Share Experiences and Visions for Cross-Cultural Ministry – The host for the presentation and following discussion will be Bryan Boyer, district minister, who will ask, "What are your experiences in cross-cultural ministries?" and, "What is your hope and vision for cross-cultural ministries?" Panelists include Ataloa Woodin- pastor, Community Brethren , Rene Quintanilla- pastor and church planter, Latino Community Brethren Church, Don Brewer- pastor, McFarland Church of the Brethren, and Mary Fleming- pastor, Prince of Peace. After a brief presentation by each panelist, the format will be opened to everyone for questions and dialogue.
